Summary
The Flea was brought in to be a part of a large IBM presence at Boots Headquarters in Nottingham as the Design Consultant for the re-design of the Boots Intranmet. He was tasked with leading a team of four Boots designers to produce a new design for the Intranet. After several phases of design, the Flea's design concept was chosen as the final look and feel for the site.
The Flea then produced an HTML version of the site templates, providing proof of concept for the Boots coding team. He also produced an initial set of HTML based guidelines. He ran workshops, meetings and brainstorming sessions to help achieve a cross discipline acceptance of the new intranet design within Boots.
He successfully worked with Boots personnel up to director level on this project, and received highly positive feedback from these senior staff members.
The site won “Best Intranet/Extranet” at the 2004 International Information Industry awards.
Comments
Very well received design at board level and below.
Established IBM name as being synonymous with good design practice at Boots, leading to further contractors from IBM.
